Sport and Recreation

The recreation zone along the Korana River, as well as the entire area surrounding the banks of this lovely river, provides a wonderful opportunity for economic development, sports, or tourism opportunities. 

There are a number of facilities within a six hectares area that exist today but could be enhanced. Along with the recently renovated hotel, Korana -  Srakovcic, another hotel nearby was devastated during the war. Not far from there is a  sports hall, tennis courts, auxiliary track and field facility, as well as an area reserved for a swimming pool complex.

The City of Karlovac recently drafted all the necessary documents and completed a conceptual design for a new swimming pool complex, but lacks a development partner. This interesting area spreads along the right bank of the Korana river.

The general urban plan for the city of Karlovac strictly reserved this area for tourism and sport use. In the summer season, this area attracts thousands of tourists and local residents.
